Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Hi! My name is Anastasia and I’m 19 years old. I’m from Belgium: the land of chocolate, French fries and of course ‘the fashion six’ (Ann Demeulemeester, DriesVan Noten,…)!

In my spare time I love to draw, do some DIY projects, paint funky nail art… well being creative!

I also study Biomedical Sciences at the University of Antwerp.



How did you become interested in fashion?
I always was!

My mom used to dress me up with hats, dresses and jumpsuits. So I kind off inherited her basics of style!

I had to wear a school uniform for 12 years, so it was quite a task to look different from the other students. When I started my new life at university, I began to feel free… So I experimented with unique clothing, make-up and hairstyles! You could say that going to university was my trigger to start "being me" in terms of fashion.



What inspired you to start your own blog?
I needed a new way to express my creativity!

Honestly, I was really scared to start my own blog… I was afraid that some people out there would be mean, because everyone feels powerful behind their computer screen... But my friends, boyfriend and even strangers started complementing me more and more about my style. So I posted some photos at sites like Mode Republic and I got great feedback! That’s how I found the confidence to start my own blog "Metamorphoses".



What are your dreams and aspirations?
This sounds really cliché, but I just want to be happy! I think that being happy means that I’ll become a great doctor/scientist; that I’ll keep having the best time with all my friends, family and my beloved boyfriend; that I’ll stay healthy and I’ll be able of fulfilling all my other dreams!



How would you describe your style? What’s your favorite look at this moment?
Well, you can’t put me in a "certain style box". I think fashion is a daily metamorphosis… That’s how I came up with my blog name!



Where do you get your fashion inspirations?
My mom is my number one fashion icon. She has amazing style, knows what and what not to wear and isn’t influenced by trends…

I also browse a lot of blogs (not only fashion blogs, because food or random photography can be a source of inspiration too) and magazines like Marie Claire,
Vogue,...



Where do you shop? What are your favorite brands
I actually don’t care about brands! I would never ever buy something just because of the label! I’ll shop everywhere and I’ll try to discover every store/brand.
Clothing must show my personality and should be of good quality. You could find me at H&M, Urban Outfitters, Pull and Bear or even a little shop nobody has ever heard of!

Oh, I also do lot’s of DIY projects! Things you make yourself are often better and more valuable! ;)

Mikala :: Fashionista from Poland

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I'm 23 years old girl from Poland. Last year I completed a degree in pedagogy. Every day working as a nanny, but is only a temporary attachment. In the near future I am planning to open my own clothing store.



How did you become interested in fashion?
Like every young woman I wanted to look beautiful and attractive, so I started to browse tv, the magazines and watch the stars to find out what's a trendy, I started to mix clothes and looks for my own style.



What inspired you to start your own blog?
I saw the other girls show their outfits on blogs and also I wanted to have a place where I could show my looks.



What are your dreams and aspirations?
My biggest dream is to design clothes and create my own brand and the store where I could sell my designs.☺



How would you describe your style? What’s your favorite look at this moment?
My style is changing all the time. I love simplicity and original clothes. Now I love vintage style, I try to combine it with modern accessories and clothes from other styles. Last all the time I wear skirts or dresses maxi.



Where do you get your fashion inspirations?
I draw inspirations from various sources, from fashion magazines, street fashion, my mother's closet, Internet and style icons, like Alexa Chung, Olivia Palermo or Olsen sister.



Where do you shop? What are your favorite brands?
I do mostly at second-hands, vintage shops and online. My favorite brands are H&M, Zara, Mango, New Yorker and Vila.

Haute and Fierce :: Fashionista from Cyprus

Haute and Fierce is one of our trendsetters! Let’s learn more about her.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am originally from Limassol, a very small town in Cyprus. People over there speak Greek, drink a lot of coffee and are extremely friendly. I came to the UK 5 years ago to study Psychology. After I got my degree I went on and worked for a luxurious handbag designer for a short space of time and after that I landed an internship for an online blog as a fashion writer.



How did you become interested in fashion?
I have been interested in fashion ever since I can remember. When I was young, I used to love watching my mum getting dressed to go on dinner dates with my dad and I also loved flicking through her fashion magazines. I guess fashion is something you are either into or not. It's not something that can grow on you.



What inspired you to start your own blog?
I was desperate to talk about the things I love and find inspiring such as fashion, trends and style so I thought what better way to do that than an online blog? I didn't really give it much thought - a year ago, on a random spring day I created Haute and Fierce and since then I've been having the best fun uploading bits and bops on it!



What are your dreams and aspirations?
I would love to have a successful career in the fashion industry as a trend researcher, a stylist, a fashion journalist or a fashion editor. A girl can only dream, right?



How would you describe your style? What’s your favorite look at this moment?
I would describe my style as very comfortable. I am into anything minimalistic (not a big fan of bold, flashy pieces) so I usually go for a nice pair of jeans, a logo or a plain top and a leather jacket or a boyfriend blazer on top of that. Add a hip pair of heels and some statement jewelry and voila you have my favorite look of all time.



Where do you get your fashion inspirations?
Inspiration is everywhere. On the street, on the TV, in music, in fashion magazines, in nature. I can be inspired by anything and everything. I especially love watching people walk down the streets of London while I'm having coffee at my favorite coffee shop spots. Londoners have the best and unexpected sense of style.



Where do you shop? What are your favorite brands?
I am a big fan of the British high-street, I absolutely love Topshop, Urban Outfitters, ASOS and H&M.

Fashionista from Germany :: Modekarussell

Modekarussell is one of our winners of the Mode Republic Contest! Let’s learn more about her.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am a 17-year old girl from Germany, which loves Flea Market Visits, the smell of Libraries and the great world. Most of my freetime i spent with the camera in my hands. That is besides Fashion my biggest hobby.
Actually I'm still at school, but my plans for the nearer future are studying in Berlin and living in an old flat with high ceilings and balcony.



How did you become interested in fashion?
I can't remember when that starts, my mum says that I’ve been always addicted. I started to dress myself when I was 3 :D



What inspired you to start your own blog?
I read an article about a German Style-Blog and thought: "This could be the Niche for me". Now it has become integral part of my daily- and life planning. My blog is my incentive to be creative.



What are your dreams and aspirations?
I let life come how it comes :). But some dreams are there since I started blogging, like being invited to fashion week. Another dream of me is travelling around the globe.



How would you describe your style? What’s your favorite look at this moment?
At the moment I’m really addicted to the Bohemian-Gypsy Style. Everyone has his favorite fabrics and cuts; my all-time-love is Lace. But describing my style would be too difficult; i mix and match my clothes till I like it.



Where do you get your fashion inspirations?
The most inspiring place on earth is the fleamarket, there are often so many inspiring and individual people and those mountains of old clothing let arise many new ideas in my head.



Where do you shop? What are your favorite brands?
Besides Fleamarkets i love Second Hand Shops and Zara.

I think it isn't important which label decorates the garment; it only depends on the material and cut if I like and wear it.
