Marriage of Vintage and Today :: Vintage 2 Vogue

Vintage 2 Vogue is one of our trendsetters! Let’s learn more about her.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.
I am originally from Raleigh, North Carolina, born and raised. Currently living in Iowa for my husband's job. I didn't go to college. Straight out of high school I got three modeling contracts. My last being with Ford Models Inc. I also am a singer/songwriter (www.myspace.com/lydiagray) and my music is for sale on Itunes under my maiden name (Lydia Gray).

How did you become interested in fashion?
I naturally was always into playing dress up and being girly. I believe my passion for fashion grew over the years organically but of course being in involved in the modeling/music industry, I was around it much more and begin to find my own personal style.

What inspired you to start your own blog?
To have my own voice and express myself creatively, while doing something I love and am passionate about.

What are your dreams and aspirations?
That I can inspire other women that taking care of your outside is as important as taking care of your inside. If you respect and take care of yourself, than others will respect you too. I believe it is important to be your own person and style can really help you stand out as an individual. I really desire for my blog to get out there. I of course would love to be a stylist!

How would you describe your style? What’s your favorite look at this moment?
The name of my blog Vintage2Vogue was inspired by how I usually enter into each of my outfits daily. I usually have at least one vintage piece in my look for the day. I believe in the marriage of vintage to the in "vogue" looks of today. I love vintage but believe you have to pair it with very modern elements to create the perfect and balanced look. I love a skinny black jean, a fresh and airy blouse and a chunky espadrille for a nice transition into Spring.
